This week in Seattle at the Partner Airlift there were about 32 session with a few overview sessions and a lot technical sessions on operations manager 2007 and configuration manager 2007. The overview sessions on SC where mainly about IT Service management, Software as a Service, Virtual Infrastructure and Service oriented architecture.

But the good stuff where the tech sessions about SCOM 2007 and SCCM 2007. The new features for monitoring end to end service monitoring, client monitoring and audit collection are taking the infrastructure control to a higher level. The SCCM 2007 inventory tools and wsus 3.0 integration for update management en service windows make the level of control for deployments much higher. One of the great new features for SCCM 2007 is the server less branch office deployment options with can use BITS throttling.

Finally for the ones going to MMS in San Diego there will be some great announcements this year from third party vendors and Microsoft.
