This is great. However, is there an example of doing this but putting the event details into the message body of an email?
I tried the following:

Event/EventData/Data[@Name='EventDetails']

And:

cc
Error event logged to CEDRUploadConsol Event Log – $(EventDetails)
xx
xx
$(EventDetails)

The $(EventDetails) variable was blank in the message subject and the actual text “$(EventDetails)” was in the body. Neither time did it actually relay the information.

I have solved my problem… it looks like Notepad on Server 2008 R2 (other not tested) has some bug with unicode, since editing on server exported task with notepad on Win7 x64 and then import on server works just fine.

I am following your post but adding a section return the following error when importing xml back:
The format of the task is not valid. The following error was reported: (12,22)::

Can you help me somehow?

Any thoughts on how to query data nodes that don\’t have names? I thought it would be Event/EventData/Data[1] however this syntax causes the task to fail with \
