Yesterday I recieved my Chumby. If you think about it is a evolution of the Nabaztag. Ok, some of you now might be lost so here is the not for Geek explainition.
First of all a Nabaztag is a Wifi Rabbit. that lets you communicatie through his ears and belly. He can play music and tells you the weather by the colors on his belly.
This how a Nabaztag looks like:
A Chumby is much more interactive. It feels like a bag of beans. And has an small touchscreen (about 5 inch I think). See picture below:
It is a wifi only device that has an Linux OS installed. On that OS it plays widgets. Those widgets have different functionalities like a clock, YouTube clips, Ebay tracker, Traffic, RSS and News.
My favorite widget is the Chuck Norris Fact widget. Every 5 seconds a new Chuck Norris Fact. Example; Chuck Norris is’nt hung like a horse, Horses are hung like Chuck Norris.
It is just very cool, well I think so.
Every day there are like four widgets added to the Chumby site. So there a lot of them on www.chumby.com.
A Chumby is only availible in the US of A. But if you google a bit you will find a way to get one at your doorstep in Europe.
Well that it for now. I go back looking at Chuck Norris fact.

My Chumby is on its way from China to the US of A and then it will be repacked by a friend to ship it to Holland.
These gadgets are realy making a Global trip to arive to our doorsteps.

Last night my Chumby visited Alaska.
I hope he was wearing a coat, it can be freezing out there.
So now that my Chumby is on the mainland of the US of A it wont take long anymore before my friend will receive it so he can ship it to me.
