I just did this with my games folder on my computer. Here's how I got it to work:

1. Open the command prompt (Windows+R keys, type in command and hit enter).
2. In the command prompt (black and white colors), I typed this

mklink /J c:\"Program Files"\Steam\steamapps e:\_Games\steamapps

Here's some notes about this command:

1. /J makes a hard link for a folder on your drive, not a file. mklink makes file symlinks by default, not directory symlinks. Without /J you will get an error if you try to link folders.
2. Because of the space that is in the file path Program Files, I had to use " quotes " but only for the two words flanking the space! Or you will get an error (i.e. "c:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps" is NOT correct).
3. The first location in the command string (step 2) is where you want the "decoy" a.k.a symlink to be. The second location is the "real" a.k.a. the source, where the actual directory is being stored.

Hope that helps,

Thanks Kevin, your original post was VERY useful. I'm going to put some key words in this reply as a sentence to hopefully help others with the issue find the post in Google.

Thanks to everyone else for your input also, especially the part about XP and the "linkd". Nice work.

For Google Search:
how to roam Groove 2007 profile
redirect Groove 2007 account
redirect Groove 2007 Profile

cheers!
